Fire drama: man (70) died in the attic

Bonn -
It was about to leave on Saturday morning around 7:30 clock when Beate H. (all names) their apartment in the Beueler Agnes Street. In the stairwell, she noticed "a sharp odor.
Together with a neighbor, they alerted the fire department. In the attic apartment a fire had broken out. For the inhabitants Fritz F. (70) any help came too late.
"I wanted to go in the morning for sports, when I noticed the smell in the stairwell. It smelled of smoke, although not directly, but the smell was unusual and alarming, "said Beate H." I then woke my neighbor. They heard only a crackling. "
The fire at the home of Fritz F. spread quickly went over well at the home of Beatrice H.. Fire and Rescue Service were in place with a total of 30 men. They initially evacuated the remaining occupants of the house. From the street could be seen coming out of the attic window of the apartment by Fritz F. dense smoke. From the living room window, Beate H. smoke come out.
De rescue people with breathing masks forced their way into the top floor of the four-party house in Beuel. On a stretcher, they carried the 70-year-olds out into the open. The ambulance was observed, however, only the death of Fritz F.. A few minutes after nine clock is turned off the fire.
The penthouse apartment and the rooms are uninhabitable by Beate H., H. comes in first in her neighbor. The relatives of the deceased are looked after by an emergency pastor. The other inhabitants of the old building could return to their homes.
The reasons why the fire broke out in the attic and what Fritz F. ultimately died were unclear until Sunday. Presumably, a flue gas poisoning, the cause of death. Prosecutors and police have taken over the investigation. The results will be announced in the coming days.
